Securities Litigation Paralegal The candidate will review briefs and other documents and final, file, and serve them as well as assist attorneys with discovery and case management. Provide support to multiple partners and associates while working under the guidance of a Senior Paralegal. Edit documents, such as briefs, pleadings. Cite check to conform documents to BlueBook and do electronic filings. Complete projects on time and accurately - knowledge of grammar rules and attention to detail is critical. Be willing and available to work overtime (as needed). The candidate should have Bachelor's Degree, or Successful completion of the Certified Paralegal (CP) certifying examination of NALA, Inc., or Graduation from an ABA-approved program of study for paralegals, or Graduation from a course of study for paralegals which is institutionally accredited but not ABA approved, and which requires not less than the equivalent of 60 semester hours of classroom study. Successful completion of the Certified Paralegal (CP) certifying examination of NALA, Inc is required. Must have Graduation from an ABA approved program of study for paralegals. Graduation from a course of study for paralegals which is institutionally accredited but not ABA approved, and which requires not less than the equivalent of 60 semester hours of classroom study is required. should have Graduation from a course of study for paralegals, other than those set forth in (2) and (3) above, plus not less than six months of in-house training as a paralegal. Should have 3 years of law-related experience under the supervision of an attorney, including at least six months of in-house training as a paralegal; or 5years of in-house training as a paralegal. Should have experience with plaintiff firms and securities and consumer class actions; experience with preparing complaints for filing and service of same. Must have strong editorial skills, in particular, proofreading, cite checking and familiarity with BlueBook rules, along with ability to follow court procedural rules for state and federal courts across the country. Familiarity with law firm practices and procedures, such as experience with electronic court filings, is a requirement. Knowledge: Microsoft Office 2016 and Nuance Power PDF. Blue Book citation procedure. Bloomberg, Westlaw, LexisNexis File & Serve, Pacer, and electronic filing procedures (both federal and state). PCLaw and NetDocuments.
