Though the Los Angeles office of this full-service litigation firm continues to specialize in complex insurance litigation coverage, the firm’s main office has recently tried to cash in on the technology litigation market to “bring some growth to the firm.” The transition has not been an easy one; the firm has had an unusually high attrition rate in recent years (insiders tell us some associates left to pursue government jobs but many departed for better money with different firms). However, while salaries remain slightly below market, many observers think the firm is capable of breaking through.
Employment Law Paralegal The candidate will be supporting the transactional and litigation employment services provided to clients. Will be drafting and updating templates for employment applications, agreements, handbooks, policies and employment-related forms, as well as the creation of chronologies and case management binders. Be responsible for providing support in employment litigation matters, including wage and hour class actions and individual employment matters. Assist in the preparation of subpoenas, motions, discovery and discovery responses, document productions, deposition outlines and deposition exhibits, as well as maintenance of case files, creating and maintaining databases on Excel, research of court rules, and coordination of library services projects. Must have a Bachelor s degree or paralegal certificate with 3+ years of experience supporting employment practitioners. A background in Human Resources is a plus. Prior paralegal experience with wage and hour class actions is important. Deadline: June 30, 2018.
