Paralegal - Trusts & Estates Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain all relevant materials for assigned matters. Create, maintain and update electronic and paper estate and trust administration files. Research and ensure compliance and local rules with respect to probate court and administrative submissions. Assist in preparation of IRS forms including (without limitation) 706s, 709s, 1041s. Prepare informal accountings. Calculate, docket, calendar and communicate administration and internal deadlines. File (electronically or otherwise) documents with courts and administrative agencies. Draft documents, amendments, letters, memos, emails, and other correspondence. Keep abreast of new laws, regulations, and government announcements. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma required, Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. Paralegal certificate preferred. 5+ years of prior law firm experience required, preferably in estate and trust administration. Experience in real estate a plus. Expert understanding of legal and field related terminology and procedures. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interpret tax documents. Outstanding organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of attorneys, personnel, and clients. Thorough knowledge of legal documents and formatting. Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
