Immigration Assistant/Paralegal I Duties: Prepare immigration cases as assigned by manager for submittal to the appropriate government agency. Work closely with manager to manage cases and to meet monthly filing goals. Understand the procedures and documentation required for cases to be filed successfully and following service standards. Work with clients to gather the necessary information and documentation in a timely manner. Prepare forms according to information received from clients. Prepare letters and other documents on behalf of the employer/client. Finalize documents after review by Practice Manager, Team Manager and/or Attorney. Ensure all deadlines are met. Provide information and assistance to clients regarding legal procedures. Update databases and utilize case preparation/management tools effectively and efficiently. Monitor status of all filed applications and petitions. Run reports to assist in managing own caseload. Make photocopies. Send faxes and scan documents. Retrieve and/or return files. Other duties as assigned. Address envelops and package. Works with clients to obtain documents and information necessary to prepare applications. Drafts support statements and organizes documentations for filling. Files and monitors applications and petitions with appropriate government agencies. Performs research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, stand processing times, etc. Initiates contact with government officials to obtain necessary information to alert supervising attorney of potential delays or possible problems in the processing of an application. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate a plus. Bachelor's Degree specializing in English Language, Journalism, Communication, etc. a plus. Experience working in an office setting preferred. Experience in content writing strongly preferred. Strong Writing Skills. Superb organizational skills. Ability to follow instructions and take action independently. Ability to manage cases and work within strict timelines. Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written. Ability to proofread and edit one s own work product. Good general computer knowledge and typing skills, including word-processing, email, and forms software. Excellent client customer service and interpersonal skills. Professional, respectful attitude towards all coworkers. Ability to receive and analyze information. Ability to judge appropriate levels of information shared with clients. Ability to share information with office members. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
