Immigration Attorney The candidate will legal briefs, develops strategy, arguments and testimony in preparation of presentation of case. Conducts research, interviews clients and witnesses and handles other details in preparation for trial. Represents client in court, interprets laws, rulings and regulations for clients. Handle the day to day issues such as: meeting with current clients to answer questions and develop case strategy, meeting with new clients in consultation appointments, reviewing all paralegal prepared applications and evidence, giving guidance and training to paralegals on how to properly prepare applications and evidence, writing case memos and setting game plans and deadlines for paralegals, conducting extensive research on country conditions and various legal issues as necessary, Writing BIA and Federal Appeal briefs, and anything else that comes up in the course of the day that needs attention. Identifying the firm's short-term strategies for realizing the long-term goals established by the Executive Committee and partners of the firm. Communicating and reaching decisions with the firm's Managing Partners/Attorneys on implementation of firm policies and objectives. 2+ years of experience in a high volume Family/Litigation Immigration Practice Law firm, J.D. from U.S. Law School are required. Admission to a U.S. State Bar are required. Bilingual English/Spanish (Strongly Preferred), Must have excellent client servicing skills, Exceptional time management and organizational skills are required. Must have 2 years of Family/Litigation Immigration experience. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to remember important details and analyze facts objectively, and the ability to present complicated information in a courtroom as well as offer support and counsel to his/her clients. This position is for our NYC office location.
