Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Responsible for answer incoming phone calls and able to professionally make outgoing phone calls (such as regular client communication, requesting medical records/billing, and scheduling medical appointments.). Obtain medical bills, records, reports, etc. Sort, scan, & electronically file the incoming mail and faxes. Prepare outgoing mail (U.S. Postal Service and Certified Return Receipt.). Copy, scan, and file documents as requested. Enter calendar appointments and reminders in system. Communicate effectively and professionally with attorneys, clients, legal and claims staff, insurance adjusters, and medical providers. Other office administrative tasks as necessary. Will work within the various aspects of litigation, including propounding and responding to discovery, scheduling mediations and depositions, and calendaring. Duties will also include preparing pleadings, setting up motions, and helping to draft, type, format and proof-read legal documents and correspondence. Preparation of documents for filing, including verification of signatures, proof of service, mailing etc. Draft/outlines of mediation briefs, trial briefs, and MSC briefs. Will also arrange, book, and coordinate travel and set up conference calls and CourtCalls. Also responsible for uploading scanned documents and file all correspondence related to litigated cases. Requirements: Bachelor s Degree in relevant field is a plus. Paralegal Certification. 2+ years experience. Must have ability to work efficiently in a busy environment with team. Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude are essential. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work in a timely manner. Must be detail-oriented and organized. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and proficient in Dropbox, DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat with a typing speed of 65 wpm. Excellent organizational skills and time management a must. Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment is necessary. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, as our Hispanic clientele has been growing and will be in direct contact with clients on a daily basis.
