Paralegal - Medical Malpractice Defense The candidate should be a smart, energetic, reliable self-starter able to juggle multiple assignments and able to represent our firm in a professional manner. Should have the opportunity to train with and work with outstanding lawyers. While a college degree is required, considerable on-the-job training will be provided. Preference for candidates with medical malpractice defense experience. Duties: Medical records acquisition, organization, summarization; Preparation of records and deposition subpoenas; Medical record abstracts; Medical record organization. Must be willing to step in and assist with other support/clerical functions when the need arises. A college degree; some graduate school desirable. 2 year of experience required. A high level of academic achievement required. Experience preparing medical record abstracts required. Solid writing skills and ability to do research required. Strong team-work and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dead-line oriented environment required. Great attention to detail required. Microsoft Office proficiency required. Ability to do dictation (Big Hand preferred). Familiarity with electronic document systems; Worldox preferred. Familiarity with E-filing required.
