Workers Compensation Paralegal Duties: Managing of the Workers Compensation matters. Establish and maintain tracking, calendaring and filing system for legal activities and scheduling. Provide support to Counsel for legal issues that arise including, but not limited to, performing fact research, creating chronologies, pulling documents, preparing summaries or other assigned tasks associated with case management Exercise impeccable judgment, discretion, respect and integrity. Responsible for handling claims from inception through resolution. Extensive contact with clients, other attorneys, insurance adjusters, workers compensation courts and medical providers. Opening new files; gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents; fully investigate each case; maintain contact with clients on regular basis; prepare documents and correspondence; collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of income; read and interpret medical records and reports; organize and maintain case files. Qualifications: Paralegal certificate preferred. 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in workers compensation industry. Experience with document control. Experience in drafting medical record summaries, discovery response, RTP, subpoenas, prepare trial notebook, trial prep, and settlement documents. Must be organized with a strong attention to detail. Ability to handle pressure, interruptions, and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadlines. Ability to perform legal research, in-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles. Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy. Exceptional organization, writing and communication skills. Interact professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, all other staff, and other representatives outside of the firm. Positive attitude. Must: be able to jump into an existing caseload and move cases forward; have strong work ethic and be able to work well in a fast pace environment; have great people skills as the position requires a great deal of contact with courts, clients and adversary; be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; have exceptional communication and written skills.
