Docket Paralegal The candidate acts as a general administrative assistant to multiple attorneys with particular emphasis on maintaining the prosecution docket for all matters. Must consistently meet deadlines at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) and foreign countries for attorneys in the firm. In addition, the Docket Paralegal assists in the preparation of legal documents to be filed with the PTO. At Patterson Intellectual Property Law, this position will provide constant administrative support to other firm attorneys and must be in tune with the unique requirements of clients handled by the various attorneys. Maintain the docket and notify attorneys and staff of daily docket dates. Docket all correspondence from the PTO. Docket litigation deadlines with U.S. Federal; Court of Appeals; Trademark Trial & Appeal Board and State Courts as required. Docket all deadlines for foreign matters. Docket all miscellaneous items based on emails or verbal instructions from attorneys. Prepare periodic IP reports for selected clients. Conduct a monthly trademark monitoring search for selected clients. Prepare docket reports and/or status charts as requested by attorneys and assistants. Prepare correspondence to clients enclosing correspondence from PTO for patents and trademarks as requested. Review all Filing Receipts and Registration Certificates for trademarks and patents for accuracy. Must have advance skills in various Microsoft products, e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook. Be quick to learn the rules based docketing process within the firms software: PerfectLaw. A Bachelors degree preferred, paralegal certificate required.
