Personal Injury and Workers Compensation Paralegal Responsibilities: Obtain, review, and package medical records and bills for settlement demands and litigation. Draft discovery answers, simple pleadings, simple motions and notices, and workers compensation documents. Compose first drafts of settlement demand letters. Record and store client information and communication, communicate with clients regarding medical treatment. Docket and monitor deadlines and statues of limitations, and oversee status of cases. Contact medical providers regularly regarding bill balances. Negotiate smaller liens. Qualifications: 4+ years' previous experience as a plaintiff s personal injury and workers compensation paralegal. Solid familiarity with medical records, medical terms, and human anatomy. Experience drafting discovery answers. Experience using Adobe to mark up, edit, and review documents and medical records. Solid familiarity with circuit court and IWCC procedures. Experience using CMS reimbursement portal. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Excellent organizational skills; deadline and detail oriented. Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
