Attorney PIP Insurance Defense The candidate will be responsible for appropriately handling all cases assigned to him/her. Will communicate, and manage the needs of his/her caseload, ensuring that they are worked up properly, moved forward, and closed in an efficient manner with the assistance and mentorship of the Senior Associate and/or Partner assigned to his/her Attorney Team. Responsible for learning his/her practice area law and procedure. Manages and moves forward all assigned cases. Understands and follows all procedures internal to teams and departments including: CDSD, File Intake Team, File Admin Team, Human Resources, Finance, and Marketing. Participates in or shadows more senior attorneys in as many hearings, depositions, and status conferences as possible in order to gain experience. Prioritizes case work and projects with Legal Assistants. Reviews all work of Legal Assistants and Paralegals before signing or approving for filing, serving, or sending to client. Attends Monthly Attorney meetings, and participates as assigned. Regularly reports to Senior Associate and/or Partner on his/her Attorney Team regarding case and project statuses. Assists Senior Associates and/or Partner on his/her Attorney Team in trial preparation and at trial, if requested. Continually strives to learn and become proficient in every Associate II skills and responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. The candidate should have 3+ years of experience. Must have a solid understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, experience with legal analysis, drafting motions and discovery. Must have courtroom and deposition experience. Should have strong client interaction and negotiation skills. Must be able to work in a fast paced practice and be a team player. Excellent written and oral communication skill is essential. Strong legal research skills with knowledge of legal databases is essential.
