Virtual Litigation Paralegal The candidate will prepare transmittal letters to oppose counsel. Prepare notices of filings and simple pleadings. Proofread and revise dispositive pleadings after attorneys. Prepare and proofread other legal & administrative correspondence & documents as assigned. Maintain file organization using our systemized naming and digital folder convention. Communicate and confer with clients, opposing counsels, courts, agencies & the general public as needed. Prepare & process outgoing mail, arrange for specialized mail or messenger service as required. Maintain & update calendars for attorneys, including meetings, appointments, due dates & client-related activities. Keep client internal updates current. Prepare daily time entries for work completed. Proactively demonstrate effective teamwork and provide assistance to other staff members as time permits. Research administrative processes and procedures as needed. Prepare hearing binders and upload them to JAWS. Review and organize evidence submitted by clients and organize them in accordance with our practices. Complete intake forms and request missing information from clients. Manage attorney deadlines and calendar deadlines and keep the managing attorney informed at all times of the pending pleadings. Update our internal charts with pending client matters weekly and be prepared to discuss with attorneys. Know rules of civil procedure deadlines for responses in federal and state court. Prepare pleadings for filings with exhibits as needed. File pleadings and keep track of all filings as they come through. Proactively anticipate the needs of attorneys, plan ahead & meet deadlines. Any other tasks as assigned by the attorney. The candidate should preferably have Bachelor's degree. Should have a Paralegal Certificate or higher. Should have 3- 10 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal. Should have reliable computer skills with secure internet access, analytical and critical thinking skills. Should be bright and quick to think under pressure, problem solver with a keen interest in proactively finding solutions to challenges, cordial and polite with an upbeat positive attitude, tech-savvy and quick learner with new tech applications/software. Should have excellent writing skills and email etiquette, strong time management skills. Should be reliable and punctual at all times, interested in case management. Should have satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a litigation paralegal's duties, computer literacy including Microsoft Office, specifically, Outlook, Word, and Teams. Should follow directions well and can enhance procedures and directions as necessary. Should have excellent grammar skills. Should pay great attention to detail. Should have working knowledge of case management software (bonus if it's MyCase), excellent administrative and organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
