Pre-Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist the DRV Attorney and DRV Paralegals with the firm s homeowner s association DRV practice. Will be responsible for all pre-litigation aspects of the deed restriction violations for homeowner's associations. Work with homeowners regarding the ACC submittals and resolving DRV issues; update the appropriate account information. Will be responsible to the billing of all work products, including the attorney s time. Status reports; prepare update/input new referrals/organize and discard closed matters, etc. Telephone conference or e-mail correspondence with property owners/managers. Follow-up on violation(s) with property owners. Perform general research thru internet, etc. Review/respond to incoming mailings/e-mails from property owners/managers. Monitor service and responses filed with Court. Request/obtain court document filings. Request certified instruments: deeds/restrictions. Review payment plans, if any. Prepare payoff statements. Monitor lender s foreclosure posting and confirmation of sale. Manage payoff statement, if any. Bill for work performed (limited to billing; majority of billing are performed by immediate supervisor). Answer/return and re-direct phone calls. Prepare/forward copies of documents/correspondence to property owner(s)/Association; print photographs related to deed restriction violations; monitor/file of return mailings; forward all copies of correspondence to Association. Retrieve/prepare files to forward to new representing attorney/law firm. The candidate must have strong ability to multi-task; high level of time-management skills. Should have attentive to details with good follow through and follow up, possess the ability to anticipate what needs to be done. Must have superior verbal and written communication skills; excellent proofreading skills. Should have ability to effectively interact and communicate with others, both externally and internally all organizational levels and locations. Must have strong knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Should have ability to learn and effectively utilize various computer applications and other forms of technology. Must have ability to maintain a customer/client focus and build rapport with others inside and outside the firm. Should have high level of professionalism; maintain confidential information. Should have proven ability to take initiative in order to meet client/customer needs. Should have ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm in high pressure situations. Bachelor s Degree or Paralegal Certificate is required. Should have 2-3 years experience in a similar position, debt collections experience a plus. May be required to act as a Notary Public.
