Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will support one Partner on a daily basis. Develop, organize, and maintain all documents (i.e., client and closing files). Proofread, and edit legal documents and client correspondence. Manage calendars to ensure meeting all deadlines. Coordinate transactions and work with supervising Partner to close residential and commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, with and without loans. Review title commitments, recorded documents and surveys. Experience in drafting closing, conveyancing and loan documents for review and revision by supervising Partner. Track transaction tasks, parties and key dates, and communicate progress to supervising Partner as issues and tasks are resolved. Prepare closing indices and binders, and follow up on the typical host of post-closing matters. Coordinate recordation of deeds, deeds of trust, plats, easements, covenants and other documents to be recorded. Experience in drafting commercial lease agreements, lease abstracts, purchase and sale agreements and reciprocal easement agreements for review and revision by supervising Partner. Assist with entity formations, draft corporate resolutions and keep minute books and other corporate governance materials. Search, prepare and file UCC financing statements. Conduct basic legal and business research. Strong written and oral communication with clients, title companies, local government departments. Make travel arrangements. The candidate must have Associates degree. Experience with Juris billing program is needed. Experience with SoftPro is required. Must have 1 year of experience in Residential Closing. 2 years of experience in Legal Commercial or Residential transactions is required. 1 year of experience in SoftPro System is preferred. License of Paralegal or Legal Assistant is required. Must have ability to type 70+ wpm. Must have a strong background in performing a wide variety of duties related to drafting and analyzing commercial real estate documents, leases, loan documents, reviewing and analyzing surveys and title commitments, settlement statements and business contracts with a strong attention to detail. Should be self-motivated, organized, and able to work well under pressure while tracking and meeting deadlines. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, SoftPro and other software tools to create professional, complete, accurate, and detailed documents. Should have Paralegal or Legal Assistant certification. Must have 4+ years legal experience in commercial or residential transactions. Should have strong attention to detail. Must have ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Should have strong grammar and proofreading/editing skills. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Should have strong administrative and organizational skills.
