Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist and support litigation attorney's in file management, development and execution of plan for discovery, depositions, investigation, expert review and trial preparation; legal research; drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery requests; Summarization of discovery, medical records and reporting to client. Determination of medical, employment, or other consumer records needed, arrange for preparation of subpoenas; Summarization of subpoenaed for client/carrier; scheduling and coordination of independent medical examinations. Drafting and preparation of motions, points and authorities and supporting declarations, conducting legal research utilizing computer - Lexis Advance. Organization and indexing of documents, including discovery responses, document productions, photographs and other tangible evidence. Assist in trial preparation, including annotation of depositions, preparation of exhibits, preparation of an arranging for service of trial subpoenas, communication with and coordination of witnesses, preparation and drafting of Motions in Limine, re-organization of file for trial. The candidate should have an Associate degree. 3 Years of progressive Litigation Paralegal Experience Required. Paralegal Certificate needed. Ability and knowledge of how to conduct legal research and discovery. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work under deadlines and pressure. Ability to understand correctly interpret and apply calendaring procedures. Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to effectively handle telephone contacts with clients. Thorough knowledge of legal systems and procedures to efficiently meet client and attorney demands. Thorough command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation and form. Good organizational skills, ability to be self-motivated and evaluate tasks based upon priority. Knowledge of computer skills to include Microsoft Office - Outlook -Word and Excel. The ability to be flexible in learning new procedures or systems relating to the accomplishment of job tasks.
