This large, rapidly growing, full-service law firm is making big strides in the global realm of telecommunications, e-commerce and dot coms in addition to having a very notable practice in international commerce, corporate and contract litigation. It is located in the Pacific Northwest with branches in the West and in Washington DC. Associates are encouraged to pursue community involvement to enhance their well-rounded approach to law and life. Billable hours credit is given for Pro Bono work, and the firm's hours requirements are very reasonable. Strong mentoring and training programs are present.
Paralegal The candidate should have extensive knowledge of real estate transactions, escrows and closings, title insurance forms and endorsements, and survey review and basic knowledge of partnerships, LLCs, and corporations in one or more of the states in which we practice. Review and prepare general correspondence, deeds, and property transfer documents, basic loan documents, easements, escrow instructions settlement statements, and basic partnership, LLC, and corporate documents. Review purchase and sale contracts and other real estate documents. Review and order title reports; good standings, certified organizational documents, litigation, UCC searches, and recorded documents. Record real estate instruments and related certificates, file partnership, LLC, and corporate documents, and obtain federal and state tax IDs and clearances. Work with government agencies. Record important dates and maintain files; organize closing documents; manage transactions; coordinate real estate and finance closings. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, title insurance companies, closing agents, government agencies, opposing parties and counsel, and other outside vendors. Perform administrative responsibilities assigned by the practice area or department chair. Examples include disseminating changes in the codes, statutes, regulations, and procedures to others in the firm and maintaining current files of forms used in the assigned practice area. Other duties as assigned. Must possess the following capabilities: ability to own and be responsible for projects and relationships, ability to analyze and solve problems both in a team context and independently; ability to plan and organize long-term projects; good common sense; ability to consistently produce error-free work; technical knowledge in the area of practice-related codes, statutes and regulations; the desire to learn and improve; positive attitude toward clients, co-workers and transaction participants; strong client service orientation; enjoyment of working in teams and collaborating; adaptability; and ability to competently manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows-based environment. High school degree or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Must have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
