Family / Criminal Law Paralegal Duties: For solo law firm handling criminal, traffic, and family law cases, legal Research and writing. Drafting letters. Drafting Complaints, and Answers and other Pleadings. Preparing Motions. Preparing Discovery Questions and Answers. Prepare cases for trial. Manage the Attorney's calendar. Manage and meet case deadlines. Answer telephones, and interact with current and potential clients. Client development and acquisition. Qualifications: Must be an NC Certified Paralegal, and must have 1+ years prior experience working as a paralegal in a law firm. Should have a bachelor's degree. A valid Notary Public commission, and those who are fluent in Spanish are highly preferred. Will have a positive attitude, pay attention to detail, and have strong organizational and time management skills. Good telephone skills, writing skills and computer literacy are required. Must also have experience drafting letters, complaints, motions and orders, as well as legal research and writing, discovery, trial preparation, etc. Must also possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and should be a notary public and fluent in Spanish. Will also require some secretarial-type work such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, typing and filing, making copies, etc.
