Associate Attorney Responsibilities: Provide legal representation for probate, estate planning, and residential real estate matters from beginning to end. Provide legal representation for business law, eviction, and family law matters as needed to supplement other attorneys. Provide potential new clients with guidance, legal advice, and options that will be in their best interest during consultations. Represent clients in status calls, hearings, pre-trials, and trials. Prepare probate legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc. as required. Draft estate plan documents and prepare drafting instructions for the support staff when needed. Handles residential real estate transactions and provides instructions for the support staff when needed. Communicate with clients in person, via mail, email, and telephone to commence an engagement, to keep the matter moving forward on a timely basis, and to make certain that the efforts of the firm's support staff are in tune with the client's needs. Communicate with financial advisors, insurance agents and companies, accountants, other members of the client's team when authorized to do so by the client as may be necessary to complete the estate plan engagement. Proactively anticipate and resolve issues quickly. Delegate tasks to support staff when appropriate, yet maintain sufficient direct client contact to ensure the client is satisfied with the progress on the matter and the amount of the attorney's involvement. Help grow the firm's presence, develop a client following to increase the firm's revenues, and keep track of and post all billable and non-billable work. Attend CLE as necessary to maintain competence and any credentialing. Make recommendations to improve processes that will increase service quality and efficiency and responsiveness to clients. Participate in firms marketing activities, including public speaking engagements, writing articles and blogs, and other activities. Adhere to firm policies and procedures. Contribute to the success of the team even if it means going outside of your job description. Provide a truly enjoyable experience for our clients. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree with IL State Bar admission. Must have 3 years of experience in probate, estate planning, and residential real estate. Apparent leadership skills, ability to learn new practice areas swiftly with a history of success. Meticulous, detail-oriented approach to work matters. Excellent ability to communicate persuasively verbally and in writing. Ability to self-manage cases and assignments from start to finish with minimal oversight. Advanced skills in MS Office applications. Willing and able to travel primarily to Cook and Will County courthouses.
