This large, rapidly growing, full-service law firm is making big strides in the global realm of telecommunications, e-commerce and dot coms in addition to having a very notable practice in international commerce, corporate and contract litigation. It is located in the Pacific Northwest with branches in the West and in Washington DC. Billable hours credit is given for Pro Bono work, and the firm's hours requirements are very reasonable. Strong mentoring and training programs are present.
Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for providing support to all areas of litigation, including managing e-Discovery, case management, and trial support. Apply knowledge of codes, statutes, regulations, and procedures related to the assigned practice area. Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments. Obtain records and documents; interviews clients, parties, and witnesses; prepare subpoenas; locate expert witnesses; manages litigation review databases; reviews literature and search databases. Assemble and organize factual information. Draft interrogatories, requests for production, motions, memorandums, witness and deposition outlines, privilege logs; draft correspondence to clients. Manage a collection of discovery documents from clients, e-discovery litigation review databases, outside reviewers; document productions; maintains the collection, production, and privilege logs. Oversee disposition of documents at the end of the case. Annotate summarizes or categorizes testimony, documents, physical evidence, or other information; assists with determining relevance and privilege; critiques experts' reports; and prepares numerical analyses. Assists with pretrial motions; prepare trial notebooks and trial exhibits; schedules witnesses; files lists of exhibits and witnesses with the court; and arranges for trial support services. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the firm's clients. The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and/or College degree or an additional 4 years of applicable experience is preferred; 3-5 years of related experience that demonstrates analytical and written research capabilities and paralegal certificate in the appropriate jurisdiction; prior experience with online litigation document review databases; a strong understanding of the EDRM; or be capable of rapidly understanding, interpreting, and applying to various client circumstances the full range of codes, statutes, and procedures related to the assigned practice area; Technical Knowledge; strong leadership skills and will foster a culture of high performance in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
