Associate Immigration Attorney The candidate will be responsible for: Representing individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts. Appearing with individuals before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for family-based matters, as well as for adjustment of status and naturalization. Preparing filings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, including Waivers, VAWA applications, and U Visa petitions. Preparing asylum applications and appearing with individuals at the Asylum Office for asylum interviews. Preparing filings before the Department of Labor in PERM matters, as well as preparing employment-based visa applications. Handling client meetings. Drafting briefs, motions, affidavits, letters, responses to requests for evidence/notices of intent to deny. Meeting deadlines. Should have 1+ year of experience working as an immigration attorney in the following areas: removal defense, family-based immigration, naturalization, asylum, waivers, vawa/u visas and/or employment based immigration. Spanish language fluency strongly preferred. Must have strong writing, oral advocacy, and research skills. Must have J.D. Virginia Bar licensure strongly preferred.
