Human Resources/Attorney Development and Recruitment Manager Duties: Serves as the lead role in overseeing all aspects of attorney recruitment, development and HR matters for both lawyers and staff for the office. Will serve as the back up for the office ADR Manager and HR Manager. Manage the Summer Program; orientation, assignments, evaluations, events, mentors, training, diversity initiatives, budget and offer process. Works directly with the Summer Program leaders to facilitate meetings on the progress of the program, work assignments, etc.; work with Practice Leaders and Partner-in-Charge to evaluate future full time hiring needs and align end of program offer process with full time needs. Manage the recruitment process for law students and clerks; screen resumes, coordinate on-campus interview schedules, in-office interviews, communications and events; maintains relationships with law school career services professionals; initiate 1L and diversity affinity group outreach events; facilitates meetings, sets recruiting strategy, prepares reports working with the Hiring Partner; coordinates the office recruiting activities with the efforts of the other offices. Manage all lateral recruiting for associates, counsel, partners and contract attorneys; maintain relationships with search firms; work with Practice Leaders to identify hiring objectives and manage approval process for initiating new searches; coordinate interview schedules, collect and distribute feedback; handle offer process. Manage the delivery of all CLE programs in the office through online resources, live programs and videoconferencing of internal programs in other offices; handle CLE accreditation of programs and allocation and tracking of credits, along with any state reporting requirements; track attendance and CLE compliance; coordinate participation of lawyers in training opportunities and market the options; coordinate the annual oral review process; work with the local office members of Committee on Professional Advancement (COPA) and the Litigation and Transactional Training Committees; coordinate pro bono events and efforts. Attorney Human Resources. Handle the array of HR processes that include new hire orientation, lateral integration, mentoring, separations, exit interviews, leaves of absence, part time, client and international secondments, visas, Bar admission and bar dues; provide information on firm policies and procedures for HR and as outlined in the various online manuals; responsible for the data entry and integrity for applicant, CLE and HRIS data. Diversity. Proactively initiate diversity ideas to ensure we attract a diverse candidate pool and that we retain diverse lawyers who are hired; work with local office Women s Forum and Associate Diversity Council members. General. Prepare the budget for recruiting and development and manage the expenses to the budget; participate in national projects as needed; develop and update content for Career Opportunities website for LA office and any other necessary promotional materials; assist with documenting ADR procedures for use of all members of department. Will be the direct line report for approximately 20 staff members. Salary administration, employee performance management and merit increase and bonus recommendations. Employee relations issues, EAP coordination. Policy interpretation and communication as well as labor law compliance. Responsible for the full scope of the recruitment function which includes posting and sourcing candidates, new hire orientation and benefits coordination. Maintenance of personnel records and retention. Oversee HR enhancement and project efforts for office. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. 10+ years of extensive human resources and/or attorney recruiting experience, in a corporate environment. Law firm experience not a requirement but professional services organization a strong preference. Thorough knowledge of labor laws (both Federal and State). Strong computer skills required, proficiency with Microsoft Office products and applicant tracking, HRIS and CLE systems and compliance such as: PeopleSoft, Icims, LawCruit and CE Manager. Strong communication skills both verbal and written and able to address tasks in a timely and efficient manner with all relevant parties. Must possess a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities. Strong problem solving and organizational skills required. Service oriented with a high level of initiative.
