Seeking Associate Attorney - Education Law with significant experience in education law or some experience in education law and a strong desire and capacity to develop a practice representing public schools, private schools, community colleges, universities, and other educational entities. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to represent educational institutions in federal and state court and in administrative proceedings, as well as the ability to provide advice to these institutions on a wide-variety of legal issues. Will have knowledge of or experience with a combination of legal issues that affect educational institutions, such as student issues, employment issues including issues pertaining to professional educators or faculty members, collective bargaining and labor issues, public records and meetings, contract review and drafting, constitutional issues applicable to public schools, FERPA, Title IX of the Education Amendments, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the IDEA, the Americans With Disabilities Act, and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Experience with public entity representation is a plus. Strong communication and writing skills, good judgment, analytical ability, a desire to join and build upon a practice with educational institutions, and the ability to communicate effectively with people of many diverse backgrounds are required.
