Patent Paralegal The candidate will develop and maintain systems to collect, store and retrieve data. Locate and expedite requested documentation; draft original correspondence and materials for communication under attorney's signature; draft original correspondence to various parties and clients for own signature. Communicate with clients, government agencies/officials, consultants and various other parties on a regular basis to collect and assemble information. Communicate as an agent of the attorney. Perform other tasks as necessary or directed. The candidate must have a Bachelors degree and/or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience within an Intellectual Property practice area. 3+ years IP patent prosecution experience is preferred. Should have excellent oral and written communication skills and proven analytical ability. Must have the ability to set priorities, exercise independent judgment, and initiate projects. Should have the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines; responsible; resourceful; professional. Practical knowledge and moderate understanding of all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, including identifying incoming communications from the USPTO and foreign associates and preparation of base responses for same. Should have experience conducting searches on databases. Must have knowledge of online resources including EFS-Web electronic filing system and PAIR, Global IP Estimator, and at least one docket database (preferably Foundation IP).
