Senior Patent Paralegal The candidate will oversee the IP practice group's prosecution support staff, including Docketing staff and filing specialists [paralegals], providing training, guidance, and feedback. Identify technical solutions and resources to advance department goals, including implementing new or updated software and selecting third-party vendors. Monitor and evaluate workflow, department procedures, and risk management. Propose and timely implement improvements and best practices. Establish key metrics and reports for team performance. Assist attorneys and patent agents in preparation and filings of patent applications and prosecution papers (e.g., transmittals, IDS, POAs, declarations, assignments, responses to Office Actions, etc.) with the USPTO and WIPO. Handle formalities requirements for U.S. and foreign patent applications. Correspond with client counterparts and foreign agents with regard to prosecution procedures, deadlines, case status, formalities requirements, etc. Review and reporting of correspondence received from patent offices and foreign agents. Maintain e-libraries of references for IDS submission. Monitor attorneys and patent agents docket reports and assist in answering docket callups. Manage payment of annuities. Management of case files. Stay current on rules and regulations of USPTO, PCT, and foreign patent offices. Should preferably have a Bachelor's degree. Also, 10+ years of U.S., PCT, and foreign patent filing and prosecution experience is required. Working knowledge of patent docketing software is needed. Knowledge and experience with trademark filing and prosecution are a plus.
