Non-Routine Litigation Discovery Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for maintaining all pending discovery matters for contested foreclosures and replevins within the department. Will be working with the attorney and client to accurately and timely respond to discovery requests received by the firm and to propound and litigate discovery requests issued by the firm to other parties. Maintaining the discovery received by the firm to ensure compliance with all applicable deadlines. Preparation of Discovery Packages to be propounded on opposing parties. Maintaining the assigned Contested/Defense caseload with the assigned attorney. CaseAware current steps are to be maintained daily with no past due items not worked. Maintain client systems with current status of the case in accordance with firm and client requirements. Timely launch and update case management system for all items received from the firm s attorney service inbox. Work with attorney to timely resolve all motions directed to the pleadings and timely push the actions to judgment. Have Weekly Attorney-Paralegal Meetings to discuss high priority files, upcoming hearings, pending discovery and one quarter of the assigned caseload. The candidate should have a High School Diploma. A Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies/Pre-Law desired. Must preferably be Florida Registered Paralegal or National Paralegal Certification. Must have 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in at least two of the following fields: Foreclosure/Default Servicing; Probate and Estates; State Appellate Court; Federal District Court; Federal Bankruptcy Court; Experience with State and Federal rules relating to discovery.
