Senior Paralegal - Litigation The candidate will take a lead role in managing all phases of often complex litigation matters filed in both state and federal courts. Will work closely with the attorney teams and must be knowledgeable regarding prefiling investigations, preparation and service of pleadings, management of all aspects of discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, trial, and the appeal process. This position is often called upon to perform general research utilizing Westlaw, Pacer, the internet, and social media. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. Must have 10+ years of litigation paralegal experience. Solid knowledge of court rules, proper docketing procedure, e-filing, and e-discovery process and procedure are all necessary. Good writing and proofreading skills are essential as well as an aptitude to learn and utilize multiple legal and administrative support applications are needed. Knowledge of civil procedure and e-filing process in both state and federal courts strongly preferred. Should have strong oral and written communication skills demonstrated in the ability to present information in a concise and understandable way. Ability to deal professionally with clients, court personnel, witnesses, opposing counsel, and others involved in the litigation process is essential. Experience with MS Office Suite, iManage, Relativity, Adobe Acrobat, PACER/ECF, txcourts.gov, and other litigation support software a plus. Familiarity with Westlaw and general knowledge of other research tools, such as special legal and/or government agency data bases, the internet, and social media sites to obtain required information and documents desired. Must be available to work extended hours when required.
