Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will provide paralegal support to the attorneys in the real estate practice group; corporate department. Will conduct full title examinations/search of county records. Draft abstract of title and opinion. Arrange for purchase of title insurance. Assist client in obtaining mortgage financing or refinancing. Review mortgage applications. Records mortgages and documents with county offices. Organize tax receipts and calculate property taxes for closing. Prepare and file complaint regarding real estate taxation with auditor. Prepare and file real property taxation exemption forms. Draft property tax returns. Draft purchase and sale agreements. Draft deeds, mortgages, leases, contracts, affidavits, partnership certificate, and agreements. Prepare and review lease agreements, amendments, etc.. Arrange for closing date and notify all parties concerned. Assist at closing. Organize closing books and documents. Draft complaint, answer, and subsequent pleadings for foreclosing proceedings. File foreclosure documents with clerk of courts. The candidate should have a college degree, paralegal certificate, or relevant work experience. Must have 3+ years of performing high-level corporate tasks. Should be a highly skilled and proactive real estate paralegal. Knowledge and experience performing high level tasks is required. Expert in assisting attorneys through all phases of sale and/or purchase of real estate is needed. Ability to effectively organize, plan, and prioritize work is essential. Must be dependable and hardworking team player. Should be able to communicate effectively and professional (verbal and written). Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills. Strong technical and working knowledge of SoftPro a plus.
