Legal Secretary / Assistant Litigation The candidate will be working closely with attorneys and administrative assistants to ensure timely completion of tasks and assignments. Will be preparation of pleadings/discovery/subpoenas/deposition notices and objections/legal briefs (including generation of shells, creation of tables, final formatting for review by attorneys; assembly/filing/service, etc. Creation and maintenance of internal binders containing discovery, discovery responses, and documents produced. Working with attorney service, messengers, etc. to coordinate filing and service of process. Ordering court reporters. Setting up Court Calls. Checking online for Tentative Rulings. Giving attorneys what is needed for hearings (e.g. binders, copies of necessary documents, etc.). Making travel arrangements for attorneys/clients. Sending and obtaining appropriate documents to and from expert witnesses. Arranging for working copies to be given to attorneys. Ordering various records. Closing Files. Assisting in projects as need or as delegated. Should have 5+ years of experience. Should have experience in litigation for duties including: calendaring - appearances, deadlines (per CCP, FRCP, CRC, and internal protocols, etc.), tasks, etc.
