Litigation Paralegal - Liability Defense The candidate will be drafting of pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, subpoenas, settlement documents, etc. Will be processing authorizations and compile medical records. Analyzing medical records, draft summaries and chronologies. Communicating with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and counsel for co-defendants as needed. Managing and updating case activity to assist attorneys with case monitoring and client reporting. Assisting with prepping files for mediation, arbitration and trial. Preparing cases from inception to trial. Accurately record and maintain billable hours. The candidate should have a Paralegal certificate. An Associate Degree or higher is preferred. Must have 2+ years of experience. Experience in civil litigation and management of high-volume of cases essential. Experience reviewing medical and technical records preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills essential. Legal research (Lexis, Westlaw) proficiency preferred. Knowledge of New York State Unified Court System and Federal E-Filing Procedures needed. Should have 2 years of MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn new programs and systems experience. Must be familiar with all aspects of liability and defense litigation.
