Family Law Paralegal The candidate will calendar and continuously manage hearing dates, case deadlines, and to-do items through case management software (Amicus Attorney). Will coordinate and schedule client meetings and attorney telephone conferences. Review and prepare financial disclosure documents. Gather, organize, and serve discovery and other pertinent documents. Draft, proofread, edit and revise: separation agreements, pleadings, motions, cover sheets, and correspondence. Have frequent communication with clients, opposing counsels' offices, and Wake County Family Court representatives by e-mail and telephone. Help prepare clients and clients' files for mediations, depositions, and court hearings. Prepare trial exhibit notebooks. Prepare pleadings index binders. Enter own billable time into billing system (Timeslips). Handle confidential internal and external matters. Answer incoming calls as needed to assist the Office Administrator. Accept and process client payments as needed to assist the Office Administrator. Process incoming mail and email as needed to assist the Office Administrator. The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor's degree. Associate's degree is required. Certificate from an ABA-Certified Paralegal Program preferred. Must have 3 years of paralegal experience (family law experience preferred). Strong proficiency in or ability to quickly learn the Tenth Judicial District Family Court Rules, as they pertain to calendaring, procedural motions, and financial disclosures. Experience in the use of time keeping (Timeslips) and case management software (Amicus Attorney). Should have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat (proficiency with QuickBooks preferred).
