Immigration Legal Secretary The candidate will Will work in Labor and Employment Department. Will focus on employment-related matters; obtaining temporary non-immigrant status and visas for executives, treaty traders and investors, business visitors and other professionals. Assist with clients transitioning from temporary non-immigrant status to permanent residency and naturalization, as well as assist clients in placement of key employees in foreign countries. Prepare, edit and electronically file pleadings. Prepare and file employment-based immigration petitions; complete H-1B, LCA, TN, L-1A, L-1B, and other immigration forms. Create and revise documents from dictation and from handwritten, typed or electronic copy; compose correspondence as directed. Assume responsibility for billing process. Assist with Elite Webview time entries; maintain electronic and paper files; open new matters; assist with docketing and special projects. May be required to perform other duties not specifically mentioned. The candidate should have high school diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent. Should have 3+ years of immigration legal secretary experience and 1+ year of experience with extensive knowledge of litigation and trial procedures, including ECF (federal) and Odyssey (state) electronic court filing programs.Accurate typing skills of 50 wpm is essential. Should have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; some experience with Excel and PowerPoint is preferred. Should have effective communication skills with all levels of personnel as well as with clients. Experience with immigration case management system and large law firm experience is preferred.
