Associate Attorney Duties: Represent firm clients in their legal matters including but not limited to the areas of practices of immigration, criminal, civil, family, and probate law. Research, analyze and interpret existing laws and ordinances, court decisions, pending legislation and other legal authorities; utilizing traditional research tools as well as on-line research. Prepare written pleadings and memoranda on a variety of issues and proceedings including the areas of practices of immigration, criminal, civil, family, and probate law. Perform other duties as assigned, including clerical duties. Requirements: Must have 2+ years of trial experience. Must have general knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and practices of legal research and writing. Must have general knowledge of court rules, policies and procedures. Must have the ability to present statements of fact and law and argue clearly and logically in written and oral form. Must have the ability to define issues, perform legal research, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and make appropriate recommendations. Must have the ability to effectively represent the firm in contacts with the court, public, attorneys, law enforcement agencies and other government jurisdictions. Must have 1+ year of experience (in the criminal field). Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred. Must have good customer service skills. Must be able to accept supervision at all times. Must be well organized and able to multi-task. Must be responsible and reliable. Must be able to manage time and prioritize. Must be able to take initiative, if an assignment is not assigned. Must have the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Must not contribute to or create a hostile work environment. Notary is a plus.
