Paralegal - Foreign Filing RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages all prosecution correspondence for patent, copyright and trademark foreign matters. Assists with preparation, filing and maintenance of foreign applications. Responsible for reviewing and managing the firm s foreign patent docket in its entirety. Preparation and filing of PCT applications and related prosecution documents e.g. response to Invitation to Correct Defects and Chapter II Demands, Article 19 and 34 amendments. Prepare all US and Foreign Filing reminders for the firm. Prepare and file National Phase and Direct National Filings in foreign countries. Prepare all formal documentation, certification and legalization. Research and retrieve information utilizing legal rule books (e.g., the MPEP, the TMEP, Manuel of Industrial Property, etc.), the United States Patent and Trademark Office website, Foreign Patent Office websites, worldwide resources. Maintain electronic files in prosecution management database. Coordinate and perform a diverse range of services required to accomplish client objectives and satisfy the Firm s responsibilities to our client(s). Collaborate with clients to identify, establish, and maintain data integrity, processes and applicable databases that support client and Firm objectives. Maintain the integrity of electronic data relating to clients intellectual property in accordance with firm policy and procedures. Assess client-specific situations to improve client satisfaction. Meet firm billing requirement. May guide, mentor, or be a resource to others. Adhere to established work schedule, but flexible to meet workload demands. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree. Paralegal certificate. Prior experience in direct foreign filing at an IP law firm.
