Paralegal Legal Assistant The candidate will open pre-litigation claims with insurance companies, including sending letters of representation. Set clients up with medical providers and keeping track of their treatment. Request police reports and client medical records and billing. Communicate and correspond with client(s) about case status and preparation (i.e. telephonically, in-person, etc.). Receive/screen incoming calls. Prepare documents for filing with the appropriate court or other government office via e-filing, in compliance with rules set out by that agency. Create and maintain litigation files for each matter. Prepare legal documents for service on appropriate counsel and parties. Fax, photocopy, scan, and convert or export/import documents to/from other applications. Open and sort incoming litigation mail. Calendar and manage all litigation deadlines. Draft written discovery, responses to written discovery, subpoenas, meet and confer correspondence, motions, oppositions and replies, medical chronologies and case summaries. Paralegal Certificate and Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience is required. Spanish skills are required.
