Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible to assist attorneys by performing research; organizing information and preparing legal arguments. Following the ethical requirements as set forth by Rules of Professional Conduct of the state. Assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials. Investigating and fact-finding for cases. Identifying relevant legal articles, laws and judicial decisions for cases. Assisting in preparing legal documents such as legal arguments, motions, contracts and agreements. Drafting complaints and answers, routine notices, affidavits. Organizing, indexing and tracking files. Performing assigned legal research tasks using all available resources including libraries and computer based systems. Analyzing and organizing information to produce reports. Monitoring and reviewing government regulations. Providing administrative support for attorneys in court and at the office. Associate degree in paralegal studies or equivalent work experience is necessary. Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA), the National Association for Legal Professionals (NALS) - Professional Paralegal (PP) or the American Alliance Certified Paralegal (AACP) credential offered by the American Alliance of Paralegals, Inc. is essential. Familiarity with legal databases and certain court procedures is required.
