Litigation Paralegal The candidate will work directly with the litigation group and will be responsible for performing a number of paralegal duties. The firm's litigators seek a strong problem-solver with good analytical skills and initiative, capable of thinking independently and becoming a fully integrated part of the litigation team. Manages and organizes litigation documents. Manages e-discovery files and databases, assisting in production and intake of litigation documents and in compiling documents for depositions, hearings, and trials. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Prepares legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, etc. Has a strong understanding of State and Federal discovery procedures and has technical ability with of e-discovery methods and systems. May direct the work of clerical or other support staff. Paralegal certification preferred; bachelor's degree preferred. 4+ years of experience supporting litigation attorneys preferred. Demonstrates professional manner, as well as high level of interpersonal skills to handle time-sensitive, confidential, and stressful situations in a fast-paced environment. Continually demonstrates poise, tact, positive attitude, and diplomacy. Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal communications, planning and organizational skills. Makes effective decisions with minimal supervision and information. Expert problem-solver, solution- and team-oriented and works collaboratively to achieve team goals. Takes initiative and pursue opportunities for improving efficiency. Quick learner who can develop skills rapidly. Strong multi-tasking skills. Can complete several concurrent tasks. Manages time effectively, exercises good judgment in setting priorities to complete tasks to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail and ability to balance and maintain workload. Ability to anticipate the needs of the executives and team members. Ability to balance and maintain workload. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
