Personal Injury Attorney The candidate will work within the various aspects of litigation, from filing lawsuits to preparing for trial. Among other things, duties will include, taking depositions; making court appearances, preparing pleadings and motions; propounding and responding to discovery; drafting meet and confer letters; and typing, formatting and proof-reading legal documents and correspondence, including mediation briefs, trial briefs, and MSC briefs from scratch. Will also be responsible for getting cases ready for trial and/or settlement, reviewing discovery, negotiating settlements, and preparing all trial related documents with the assistance of a legal secretary. Will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the progression of all litigated cases in the firm while working in conjunction with the partner, an associate, trial counsel, and litigation staff. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, will handle a heavy case load, are team players with a service attitude, and have a superior ability to maintain effective relationships with other attorneys, staff and the general public. Must have a thorough understanding of the processes of state and federal litigation. Must be experienced in, and knowledgeable of, e-filing, trial procedures and deadlines, discovery, case management, and calendaring. Should be outgoing, creative, intelligent, professional, and polished.
