Trial Attorney The candidate will assist small criminal defense law firm with cases, clients, and court appearances. Plus would be former public defender with 2+ years of county court, juvenile or drug court, and some district court trial experience. This position will expose attorney to many areas of a law practice, prepare them to practice in criminal defense, and rapidly train to be a practicing, effective, and productive trial attorney. Will handle procedural or minor court appearances, co-chair jury trials, perform legal research and writing, engage in continuing education, edit and draft motions and pleadings, maintain relationships with clients, investigate witnesses and evidence, and help perform office administrative functions. Carries a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability to the profession and to our clients. Must be genuinely open and accepting of the criminal defense profession and understand its importance. Must have a strong desire to be a trial attorney and litigator to enjoy this position. The candidate who have one or more of the following will be considered: trial practicum or other trial class; evidence practicum or other advanced evidence class; criminal law practicum or advanced criminal procedure class; civil litigation practicum. Should have US District Court License; CO Bar license. Language: Spanish; English.
