Litigation Paralegal The candidate will join personal injury law firm. Will draft Complaints, pleadings, motions, orders, notices, subpoenas, etc., in Virginia Circuit and General District Courts- must have experience responding to Interrogatories and Requests for Production; Independently manage attorney discovery calendar to ensure all deadlines are met; Schedule and assist attorney with depositions, mediations, and civil trials; Handle pre-litigation personal injury cases as needed, including: Requesting medical records and enter data into system- must have experience summarizing medical records; Requesting medical bills and enter data into system- must have experience calculating and verifying damages; Maintaining contact with insurance companies, medical providers, and clients through both verbal and written contact; Verifying insurance limits and collecting medpay and income loss benefits as applicable; Determining the validity of ERISA claims and responding accordingly. Should have 2+ years experience handling litigation files (any setting considered, personal injury setting preferred). Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must have strong computer skills, ability to learn and use legal software and all Microsoft software.
