Associate Immigration Attorney Duties: Representing individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts. Appearing with individuals before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for family-based matters, as well as for adjustment of status and naturalization. Preparing filings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, including but not limited to I-601A Waivers, VAWA applications, and U Visa petitions. Preparing asylum applications and appearing with individuals at the Asylum Office for asylum interviews. Preparing filings before the Department of Labor in PERM matters. Handling client meetings. Drafting briefs, motions, affidavits, letters, responses to requests for evidence/notices of intent to deny. Meeting deadlines. Qualifications: Must have JD Degree. Virginia Bar licensure strongly preferred. Must have 1+ year of experience working as an immigration attorney in the following areas: removal defense, family-based immigration, naturalization, asylum, waivers, vawa/u visas and/or employment based immigration. Spanish language fluency strongly preferred. Strong writing, oral advocacy, and research skills. Must be very organized, professional, proactive and a team-player. Must have strong multi-tasking skills.
