Legal Secretary The candidate work for law firm in Huntington Beach that specializes in Intellectual Property and Litigation. Duties will include: Preparing/formatting documents for filing; e-filing documents with Court; Contacting clients, opposing counsel, etc. by mail, email or phone; Scanning and indexing documents; Calendaring; Filing in office in folders; Binders for appearances; Research; Billing (entering time tickets); Second line for answering phones, take messages, direct incoming calls to appropriate staff; Respond to client questions and/or paperwork as needed; Trial preparation. Should be well-versed in calendaring rules for Federal and State courts (Orange and Los Angeles Counties in particular), and be able to calendar manually as well as with computerized docketing systems. Applicant must be experienced in e-filing pleadings in federal and state court, preparing trial binders, and must be familiar with WordPerfect as well as Microsoft Word. Must be able to create TOC/TOA's in motions. Need someone detail-oriented and on top of deadlines. Experience with AbacusLaw is a plus.
