Legal Secretary The candidate will: Support 2 attorneys. Enhances attorney effectiveness by providing information-management support; representing the attorney to clients and others. Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics (Dragon Voice Recognition & Phillips Dictation). Conserves attorneys time by reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications; organizing client conferences, and attorney meetings; scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions; preparing expense reports.. Coordinates and sets up in-house client appointments. Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, depositions, hearings and travel; recording and monitoring court appearance dates. Sets up and maintains databases and files. Follows office systems. Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential. Qualifications: Knowledge and experience with MS Office 2010. Processing, presentations and database management. Working knowledge of legal procedures and legal terminology an advantage. Knowledge of local, state and federal filing rules an advantage. Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. Transcription and typing skills. Must be highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their work load and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced law firm. Verbal and written communication skills.
