Intake Attorney DUTIES: Follow practices and processes that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company standards, and serve the needs of our clients. This includes a commitment to a process of continuous improvement. Review all cases scheduled for sign-up and make pre-appointment calls to clients scheduled for sign up prior to investigator meeting with them. Review cases prior to sign up for conflict of interest check and any 3rd party/other liability claim. Send letters to any current clients who have a potential 3rd party claim to advise if we are/are not handling the claim. Review and approve cases prior to closure without a settlement within the firm. Approval of any correspondence to potential clients wherein the firm doesn t undertake representation or where the firm is desiring to represent. Answer rollover calls when intake staff can not answer them. Supervise cases referred to other law firms and monitor statute of limitations. Answer after hours/weekend calls when needed. Assignment of new litigation cases. Dashboard reviews of all potential medical malpractice and social security cases. Review of new leads. Review conversion and sign up ratios for the department and for individual staff members. Talk to clients who want to talk to an attorney only. Monitor statute of limitations on all potential cases. Review medical records sent in by potential clients. Handle staff questions/concerns while on the phone with potentials. Review statute reports and pending case reports. Monitor investigator calendars. Take calls from investigators during sign-up appointments when needed. Review case assignment with Case Entry Coordinator and assist when needed. Review/listen to incoming/outgoing calls made by intake staff for professionalism and accurateness. Review new case types, criteria, sign up packets, etc. and keep staff informed of additions/changes/deletions. Answer complaint calls. Review all advertisements for compliance with Kentucky, Tennessee, and New Mexico Bar Associations. Teach new staff about the unauthorized practice of law and participation in onboarding. Answer ethical questions for the firm as they arise, if they can be handled in-house. Perform other duties within the employees training and skills as directed by the General Manager. Qualifications: Degree from a four-year college or university, graduate degree from an accredited law school. License to practice law in Tennessee. License to practice law in Other State A? is a plus. 3+ years Personal Injury experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as pleadings, legal rules and procedures, governmental rules and regulations, medical records. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, court personnel, peers, and/or employees or organization. Proficiency with Microsoft office software and legal research platforms such as Needles case management. Display true passion for client and community service. Ability to professionally type a minimum of 50 words per minute. Ability to professionally multitask and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously. Display eagerness to learn each and every day. Provide dependability and trustworthiness. Possess a desire for accuracy. Respectful toward clients and coworkers. Ability to work independently without regular direct supervision.
