Associate Attorney The candidate will be drafting and interpreting contracts and the statutes that apply to contracts. Will be serving in construction contracts, agreements to bind property, loan documents, insurance policies, and covenants running with the land. Ability to look at a set of specific facts and interpret how a contract (or contracts) applies to those facts. Review multiple sections within one contract and consider how they might apply to a single question presented. Draft a memo to a client explaining a complex set of contract provisions in plain English. Propose revisions to contracts to change the outcome of how that contract operates in order to meet the needs of the clients. The candidate should have 2+ years of work experience dealing with contracts (construction, real estate, insurance, and similar would be most applicable), along with real world experience negotiating and drafting contracts. Must preferably have experience working with non-profit boards, community associations (condominium and homeowner associations) or a similar client base. Litigation experience is a plus. Must be licensed to practice in Washington. Computer literacy (and the ability to type at least 50 WPM) is critical. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite is essential.
