Litigation Paralegal Duties: Communicate and meet with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties. Provide assistance throughout all phases of the litigation process. Maintains attorney calendar by scheduling meetings, teleconferences, depositions, hearings and trial. Identify and apply state and federal court rules. Calendar deadlines and manage caseload. Draft pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Conduct interviews, perform legal research, and organize case files. Maintain pleading and discovery indexes. Draft discovery requests and responses, document production, subpoenas, and deposition preparation and summary. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, and trial notebooks. The ability to review, organize, and summarize documents including coding and/or bates stamping. Perform factual research. Qualifications: High School degree, paralegal certification, college preferred OR a combination of experience and education. 3-5 years of experience in a busy office. Proficiency in time keeping and reviewing and revising bills. Must be able to comprehend complex matters and think critically. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF creation tool(s), case and document management software Must be dedicated, dependable and have a strong integrity. Mastery of factual, legal, procedural, and technological aspects of area of practice. Must be ambitious and constant desire to fulfill team support role. Experience processing case files from demand letter through trial of case, with special emphasis on discovery, legal research and trial preparation. Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills. Strong computer technical skills and demonstrated ability to learn new software. Ability to maintain discretion and privacy with confidential matters and documents. Ability to recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts. Ability to meet minimum billable hourly requirement.
