Legal Secretary (Intellectual Property) Duties: Primary responsibilities include providing a high degree of administrative support and service for lawyers and paralegals in the Intellectual Property practice. Duties include typing, editing, proofreading, copying, and processing client matter reports as well as time and expense reports. Establishing close working relationships with assigned lawyers and secretaries in the practice in order to understand preferences, to anticipate needs, and to proactively develop efficiency gains. Qualifications: Four year degree preferred. 3+ years of experience as a litigation Legal Secretary. Knowledge of litigation filings, docketing and electronic filings. Ability to establish effective working relationships with lawyers, clients, and others outside the Firm. Must have strong skills in Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Must have strong project management skills, ability to work independently, take initiative, multi task, and set priorities. Availability for overtime. Must have solid proofreading skills and strong attention to detail. Must have effective communication with lawyers regarding work assignments. Must have strong service orientation and ability to work in a team environment.
