Immigration Assistant / Paralegal I The candidate will prepare immigration cases as assigned by manager for submittal to the appropriate government agency; begin to achieve a mastery of case types from simple to complex filings within particular practice area. Will understand the procedures and documentation required for cases to be filed successfully and following firm s service standards. Responsible for working with attorneys in the preparation, filing, and monitoring of various immigration and nationality law matters. Work with clients to gather the necessary information and documentation in a timely manner. Prepare forms according to information received from clients. Prepare letters and other documents on behalf of the employer/client. Finalize documents after review by Practice Manager, Team Manager and/or Attorney. Demonstrate ability to manage a high caseload and work within strict timelines. Monitor the status of all filed applications and petitions. Run reports to assist in managing one s own caseload. Evaluate cases and assist in providing case strategies and/or solutions to issues. Assist with the review of billing protocols and ensure that billing guidelines are met. Provide company contacts with training and guidance regarding firmsystems and general immigration matters. Engage in frequent contact with company client. Keep abreast of current regulations and procedures relating to filing applications. Bachelor s degree or Paralegal Certificate is needed. Bachelor's Degree specializing in English Language, Journalism, Communication, etc. a plus. Should have 1 year corporate immigration experience.
