Litigation Legal Secretary Duties: Type, edit, e-file pleadings and compose correspondence, including letters, memoranda and other documents, as well as create Excel spreadsheets and charts. Update and maintain databases (i.e. e-mail lists, iCreate info, client matter lists, tickler and matter lists). Interact with clients, visitors and attorneys/staff from other Hinshaw offices via phone, e-mail and in-person. Open new files, run conflicts checks, and maintain all client and general files via iManage. Make appointments and travel arrangements; maintain calendar and deadline reminder system. Assist partner and billing department in processing monthly client invoices. Maintain professional appearance and attitude; maintain good public relations and customer service with clients; maintain confidentiality of attorney-client relationship. Qualifications: Must have 5+ years of litigation experience as a legal assistant. Experience with current local, state and federal court filing requirements, including e-filing in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island state and federal courts is a plus. Knowledge of consumer financial services litigation is a plus.
