Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Prepare documents for filing with various courts (Circuit and Federal), including e-filing in Cook County as well as collar counties. Organize & Maintain file materials. Must have experience drafting correspondence, E-mails, Pleadings, Discovery, Complaints, Answer to Complaints, Motions, Trial Materials and Subpoenas, as well as scheduling of Depositions. Maintain schedules for 2 attorneys in Outlook. File control & document management. Requirements: 3 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Secretary with trial preparation. Must keep attorney files organized. Insurance defense background is preferred - civil litigation background is a must. 70 + wpm typing skill. Excellent English grammar. Strong time management and exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize. Positive attitude and willing to help other admin staff when help is required. Detail oriented, thorough and accurate. Have the ability to learn new technology. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a positive attitude. Exceptional skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, as well as WestLaw is a plus. Ability to work effectively and productively with minimal supervision. Able to read and understand written and verbal instructions from attorneys. Diligent, patient and pleasant. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Must know how to work with digital transcription. Must have used and be familiar with docketing attorney schedules in Outlook.
