Paralegal The candidate's duties include: Communicating with clients, vendors, opposing counsel and court staff; Calendaring appointments and deadlines; Drafting, editing, and proof-reading legal briefs, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence; Performing general clerical and administrative duties, including time entry and handling legal mail; Familiar with CA Civil Code, CCP, CRC, local rules, FRCP, and FRAP. Bachelor's Degree and/or a paralegal certificate required. Must have 2 years of experience in civil litigation in a law firm setting. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro required. Must be well organized and detail-oriented. Must be proactive and motivated, and able to work independently and within a team setting. Must be able to multi-task and adapt to changing situations, priorities, and deadlines. Strong attention to detail required. Ability to communicate with individuals of all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner required. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of matters and manage time and expectations required. Software used in the firm Clio Manage, DocuSign. Should have demonstrated experience in handling both state and federal civil cases, and knowledge of civil pre-trial and post-trial procedures, including statutory laws and rules of court (e.g., Civil Code, Code of Civil Procedure, Rules of Court, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. Must be responsible, motivated, diligent, proactive, well-organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy. The position requires strong proofreading and document preparation capabilities, and possess oral and written communication skills.
